How do you register your address in Greece in 2026?

After you sign a paper μισθωτήριο (lease), the landlord submits a property rental information statement through AADE tools, entering landlord and tenant AFM numbers, rent, dates, property identifiers, and related fields such as the electricity supply number and energy certificate when required. AADE guidance expects submission by the end of the month after the rental starts or changes.

You then log into TAXISnet / myAADE with your credentials and accept the declaration. Until you accept, many desks treat the address as unfinished. IOM Greece’s accommodation guidance for beneficiaries walks the same sequence: keep a paper copy, wait for the landlord upload, accept online, and only then treat the lease as fully usable for other filings.

Some procedures accept a solemn declaration from a host or landlord, a utility bill, or another official document showing the Greek address. mitos.gov.gr lists leases, titles, utility bills, phone bills, and tax returns as example address proofs for EU registration. Ask the specific KEP, Aliens Department, or bank which format they accept before you invent a workaround.

You still need an AFM and working TAXISnet access to accept electronic leases. Short tourist stays and informal sublets create the classic trap: warm hospitality, zero document trail.

Bring it to AMKA desks, EU residence certificate appointments, residence permit uploads, and bank KYC. Update the electronic lease when you move; an Athens Pangrati lease will not satisfy a Thessaloniki Aliens desk that checks territorial jurisdiction.
