Kranshi registration is how Curaçao records you as living at a local address in the bevolkingsregister (population register). It sits after immigration approval, not before. Hotels and tourist leases do not replace this step for people who hold a real residence decision.
Who should book, and with which papers?
Immigration guidance is clear: pick up or receive your temporary residence permit decision first, then schedule Kranshi registration and later the ID card pickup. You must appear in person. Bring a valid passport containing the Toelatingsorganisatie stamp, the printed residence decision, an original birth certificate not older than one year, your street address, and proof of that address through a lease, notarial deed, or written permission from the primary resident: How to rent a home.
@HOME remote stays do not by themselves create this resident registration path. Temporary remote workers usually remain outside Kranshi until they change to a residence product that allows population registration: Apply for a residence permit.
What happens after you are registered?
After Kranshi records your address, book the separate appointment to collect a sedula. Banks, licence exchange, and some Douane files become easier once identity and address line up: Open a bank account, Convert a driving licence, and Import household goods. A BB-10 extract from the register is a common customs attachment for verhuisboedel exemption files.
Appointments run through the immigration or Loket Digital booking tools named on official pages. Publieke Zaken sits at Roodeweg 42. Keep spelling identical across passport, lease, and CRIB: Get a CRIB number and Paperwork after moving.
Common misconceptions
Assuming you can register at Kranshi on a tourist stamp alone fails. The desk expects an admission decision.
Assuming Kranshi registration is the sedula card also fails. Registration and card collection are two appointments.
Summary
Finish Toelatingsorganisatie approval, gather lease and civil papers, then register in person at Kranshi before you book the sedula pickup. Skip this path if you only hold a temporary @HOME stay that does not create residence.
