Short visits use visitor entry and, when needed, an Extension of Stay through Immigration. That path is for tourism and short stays, not employment. A Permit to Reside, often called an annual permit, is the main route for non-Bahamians who want to live in the country for a purpose other than working, including many students and dependents of lawful residents.
