Kyrgyzstan Digital Nomad status
Kyrgyzstan’s Digital Nomad status lets approved tech and digital remote workers stay legally while serving clients abroad. Apply online at dnomad.e-gov.kg. Status starts at 60 days, extends to one year, and can renew yearly for up to 10 years. There is no published fixed monthly income floor.

How to get Kyrgyzstan Digital Nomad status
Apply online at dnomad.e-gov.kg for tech and digital remote workers. First grant is 60 days, then one year, with yearly renewals up to 10 years.
Before you start
You work in an approved digital field
The route targets ICT, software, creative digital work, and related high-tech roles. Generic remote jobs outside those areas are usually not eligible.
Status is not a classic residence card
Digital Nomad status lets you stay and work remotely under special rules. It does not replace a standard permanent residence path.
Plan tax residency carefully if you stay 183 days or more in any 12-month window.
Only Cabinet-listed nationalities qualify (about 61 countries). Visa-required passports usually need a type DN e-visa as well. Check the live list on the portal before you pay for translations.
Activate a personal account on dnomad.e-gov.kg first. You can only file for status after that account is active. Complete files are often reviewed in about seven working days.
- 1
Confirm your passport and job field
Check that your nationality appears on the portal list and that your work matches an approved digital or tech category.
- 2
Create and activate your portal account
Register on dnomad.e-gov.kg and wait until the personal account is activated before you start the status form.
- 3
Gather passport, photo, and income proof
Prepare a clear passport scan, a digital photo, and bank statements or service agreements that show remote income.
- 4
Translate foreign papers if needed
Documents not in Kyrgyz or Russian usually need a notarized translation. Some foreign papers may need an apostille or legalization.
- 5
Submit the Digital Nomad status form
Complete the questionnaire, upload the full set of files, and wait for Ministry of Labor review of the complete package.
- 6
Correct any gaps within the short window
If officers ask for fixes, respond quickly. Published guidance often allows only a short correction period.
- 7
Receive the electronic status document
After approval you get an electronic confirmation (often with a QR code). A PIN can issue through the civil registry without an in-person visit.
- 8
Add a DN e-visa if your passport needs one
Visa-required nationals also apply for a type DN entry visa on evisa.e-gov.kg before travel. Visa-free CIS passports may activate after arrival.
- 9
Enter Kyrgyzstan and start the 60-day stage
Status becomes active when you cross the border. The first grant is usually 60 days with registration relief for that opening stretch.
- 10
Extend to one year, then renew yearly
Plan the one-year extension before the first stage ends. Yearly renewals can continue for up to 10 years if you stay eligible.
This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Digital Nomad status rules, eligible countries, and portal steps can change. Confirm everything on dnomad.e-gov.kg and official ministry pages before you apply.

- Citizenship: No
Digital Nomad status can run for many years through renewals, but it does not itself become permanent residence or citizenship. Tax residency after 183 days in a 12-month period is a separate tax question.
Practical difficulty
easy
Rough guide only. Your case depends on papers, timing, and rule changes.
Rated easy for eligible tech passports because filing is online and the status fee is commonly described as free. Harder if your nationality is off the list or your work is not in an approved digital field.

Note
Framework locked in late 2024; online portal announced for full digital filing. Foreign-language documents usually need Kyrgyz or Russian notarized translations. Confirm tax treatment of foreign income and any entrepreneur registration with a Kyrgyz adviser.
