Applications are in person only at Kazakh foreign missions. Processing is often about five business days when the file is complete.

   Confirm remote income and stay length

   Check that your work is fully offshore and that a one-year Central Asia base fits your tax and employer rules.

   Prepare six months of bank statements

   Show stable monthly income of at least USD 3,000 from foreign sources across the last six months.

   Gather your home-country tax return

   Include a tax return issued by the competent authority in your country of citizenship, as listed in official Neo Nomad guidance.

   Obtain a criminal record certificate

   Get a police clearance from your country of citizenship or habitual residence in the format the consulate accepts.

   Buy medical insurance for the full visa period

   Carry insurance that covers the entire requested validity period, not just your first month in country.

   Check invitation or request letter rules

   If your nationality is not on the 48-country exemption list, prepare the invitation or personal request letter the mission requires.

   Complete the visa application form

   Fill the consular form in block letters, attach passport photos, and keep passport validity beyond the visa period.

   Apply at the nearest Kazakh consulate

   Book an in-person appointment, pay consular fees, and submit originals and copies per the local checklist.

   Enter Kazakhstan and follow local registration rules

   After approval, travel within the visa window and complete any migration registration your landlord or hotel requires.

    Plan extension or departure before expiry

    If you want a second year, start the Ministry of Internal Affairs extension before the first visa ends.

Neo Nomad is open to citizens of all countries who work remotely with steady income from abroad. Forty-eight listed nationalities skip the invitation letter; others may need a request or invitation document.
