   Decide whether you file as a remote professional or remote student, and check if your nationality needs a separate entry permit besides BEATS.

   Gather passport and insurance

   Prepare a valid passport and medical insurance for yourself and any dependents listed on the application.

   Prove remote work or remote study

   Professionals upload a foreign job letter or self-employment proof. Students upload accredited enrollment plus funds for living costs and return travel.

   Submit the online BEATS form

   File through the official BEATS portal, pay the USD 25 application fee per person, and keep the submission confirmation.

   Wait for Immigration review

   Expect about five business days when the file is complete. Answer any follow-up requests quickly.

   Pay the permit fee

   After approval, pay the professional or student permit fee (and dependent fees if any) using the instructions in the confirmation email.

   Save your arrival QR code

   Download or store the QR confirmation to show when you enter The Bahamas.

   Enter and follow permit terms

   Travel with passport, insurance, and QR code. Keep remote work or study outside Bahamian employers and schools.

   Before the 12-month expiry, apply for renewal if still eligible or leave and switch to another lawful status if you need a longer settlement path.

Citizenship & nationality

BEATS is open in principle to overseas professionals and students who will work or study remotely. Some nationalities still need a separate entry permit on top of BEATS. US, Canadian, EU, and British citizens often do not need an extra travel permit for entry.

• •Remote workers attach a job letter from a foreign employer or proof of self-employment. Work must stay outside Bahamian employers and clients.
• •Remote students show enrollment in an accredited school abroad plus enough funds for living costs and return travel (parent finances can count).
• •Every applicant needs a valid passport and medical insurance for the main person and any dependents on the file.
• •Professionals pay about USD 1,025 total (USD 25 application + USD 1,000 permit). Students pay about USD 525 (USD 25 + USD 500). Dependents add fees.
• •Married couples who both work remotely each file a professional application. One spouse can list shared dependents.
• •After approval and payment you receive a QR code to show on arrival. The permit expires 12 months from the issue date.
