The European side concentrates many corporate headquarters, media and finance corridors through Şişli, Beşiktaş, Levent and Maslak. Ask what aidat covers, whether heating is central or a kombi (individual gas boiler), and how the street feels at commute and sleeping hours.

Humid summers and traffic combine to make an exposed apartment and a cross-city office a hard pair. Test cooling, shade and the late-evening version of your route before you sign.

Earthquake due diligence is building specific. AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency) explains that its seismic hazard map is not a risk certificate for one apartment. Review construction and alteration records, ground information, emergency access and qualified engineering evidence. Do not treat a district name or a newer facade as safety proof.

Istanbul also has deeper specialist care and international school choice than most Turkish cities, but school runs across the Bosphorus can erase that advantage.
