Should you live in Sochi or Kaliningrad in 2026?

Sochi delivers more outdoor months than most of Russia, humid summers and visitor spikes that crowd beaches and lift short-term rents. Krasnaya Polyana adds ski and hiking access above the coast. Winter is milder than inland cities, yet rainy spells still occur. Kaliningrad winters are milder than Siberia but damper and greyer in a Baltic way: less resort heat, more persistent wet chill. Visit in the season you fear most: Sochi in humid August crowds, Kaliningrad in damp January. Check mould and cooling capacity on the Black Sea coast; check heating and damp on Baltic housing stock.
