Salaries in many white-collar fields run higher, but Moscow cost of living absorbs a large share once you want Centre-adjacent space. Specialist clinics and international school options are denser here than on the coast.

Sochi wins when your income comes from tourism, hospitality, local services, remote work that is truly location-independent, or a household already tied to Krasnodar Region. Sochi cost of living reflects coastal and seasonal demand; summer spikes can lift short-term rents even when your lease is long-term. National corporate depth does not relocate with the weather. Hybrid arrangements often mean flights back to Moscow for HQ weeks rather than assuming Sochi hosts the same employer map.

Moscow winters are cold and dark; heated interiors and Metro corridors keep routines workable if your commute is planned.
