MyNaPortal is the login layer for many Japanese e-government tasks. It does not replace the residence card or municipal counters. It does unlock online immigration filings and pension or tax views once your My Number Card certificates work.
What do you need before the first login?
Complete resident registration and obtain or apply for the plastic My Number Card. Set the user electronic certificate PIN at issuance and keep the signature certificate PIN if you will use higher-trust services. Download the official My Number Card app or follow MyNaPortal browser instructions with a supported NFC phone or USB reader.
Expired electronic certificates block login even when the plastic card looks fine. Renew certificates at the municipal desk or designated terminals before an immigration deadline week. English UI coverage varies; Japanese menus are still common.
What can movers actually do with it?
Eligible residents file extension of period of stay and some change of status applications online through the ISA residence system that authenticates via MyNaPortal. Pension and tax-related views, exemption applications and notice retrieval also sit behind the same identity: Enroll in National Pension.

Common misconceptions
Assuming the paper My Number notification slip logs you into MyNaPortal fails. You need the IC card and working certificates.
Assuming one successful login lasts forever also fails. Certificate expiry dates are separate from the card body and from your residence-card end date.
