Spain digital nomad solo income floor is €2,849 a month

Spain’s digital nomad visa still uses the same rule. Your income must clear a multiple of Spain’s minimum wage (SMI).

The 2026 SMI moved under Real Decreto 126/2026. For a solo remote worker that usually means about €2,849 a month gross. Our catalog had used a softer USD planning figure. We raised it. This is a news summary, not legal advice.

The €2,849 solo floor

• SMI is official. The decree sets the 2026 SMI at €1,221 a month in 14 payments, with an annual floor of €17,094.
• Nomad math is 200%. Planners convert that annual figure to a 12-month base, then apply 200% for the main applicant. That lands at about €2,849 a month.
• Family costs more. A first dependent often adds about 75% of SMI. Each extra dependent often adds about 25%. Confirm the live embassy table for your household.
