Italy digital nomad income examples now cite €25,500 a year

Italy did not invent a new euro salary for digital nomads. The rule is still a formula. You need yearly income of at least three times the healthcare-exemption floor.

The Italian Embassy in Seoul posted a September 2026 checklist. It writes that floor as €8,500 × 3 = €25,500. Our catalog still showed the older €28,000 planning line. We cut it. This is a news summary, not legal advice.

The €25,500 embassy figure

• The formula stayed. Three times the healthcare-exemption floor. The euro number moves when that floor moves.
• Current example is €25,500. Seoul’s English PDF, last updated 11 September 2026, shows €8,500 × 3.
• It is yearly, not monthly. That is about €2,125 a month. We now plan around $2,300.
• Your embassy may differ. Some posts still print older yearly figures. Use the sheet for the office that handles your address.
• Employees can face a second bar. Remote workers with a job contract may also need the published salary for that job type.

Papers that still matter

• Proof you are a highly skilled worker (degree, regulated job, or enough experience).
• About six months of work in the same field.
• Health insurance that covers treatment and hospital care in Italy.
• Housing proof. Some posts want a lease already registered with the tax office.
• After you land, apply for the residence permit. Do not skip that step.
