How to get @HOME in Curaçao for remote work

Apply online with proof you earn from outside Curaçao, valid medical insurance, and fee payment. Processing is often about two weeks when files are complete.

Before you start

  • Income must stay outside Curaçao

You can work remotely for foreign employers, your own foreign company, or foreign clients. Local jobs are not allowed on this permit.

  • Treat this as a one-year stay cap

Remote workers get six months, with one possible six-month extension. You do not become a resident of Curaçao through this route.

Each applicant files separately, including dependents linked to the main provider.

Official materials do not publish one fixed income number. Officers look for proof of solvency through employer letters, company ownership, or foreign client contracts.

Missing insurance, payment proof, or solvency documents are the most common delays. Upload clear scans the first time.

  1. 1

Confirm @HOME remote work fits you

Check that you earn from abroad, will not take a local job, and can stay within the six plus six month limit.

  2. 2

    Prepare proof of solvency

Gather an employer contract, foreign company ownership papers, or freelance agreements with clients based outside Curaçao.

  3. 3

    Buy valid medical insurance

Get international medical or travel cover that meets programme rules for your full intended stay.

  4. 4

    Scan passport and travel plans

Use a valid passport and plan for a return ticket that matches your approved stay length.

  5. 5

    Pay the government fee

Transfer ANG 535 (about USD 294) per applicant to the Ministry of Finance account and save proof for upload.

  6. 6

    Submit the online application

File through athomeincuracao.com in Dutch, English, or Spanish and attach Appendix D payment proof.

  7. 7

    Answer any extra document requests

Reply quickly if admissions staff ask for clearer income, insurance, or identity proof.

  8. 8

    Receive approval and travel

Keep the electronic approval, match your return ticket to the stay period, and enter with your passport.

  9. 9

    Keep work foreign-sourced only

Continue remote work for non-local employers or clients and keep supporting documents on file.

  10. 10

    Request extension or plan exit

Before the first six months end, apply for the one allowed extension or leave and choose another status if available.
