What is the weather like in Sweden in 2026?

Malmö and the wider Skåne plain sit near the Öresund. Winters are shorter and milder than inland Sweden, snow is less dependable near the southern coasts, and summers feel warm without Mediterranean extremes.

Gothenburg and the west coast take more moist Atlantic systems. Days can feel damp and changeable even when temperatures look moderate on paper.

Stockholm sits farther east on the Baltic side. Winters are colder and darker than Malmö, with short daylight around midwinter, yet the capital still feels milder than inland Norrland. Archipelago weather can shift quickly with wind and open water.
