You should look elsewhere when your week depends on dense white-collar hiring, specialist international services or a Metro map. There is no operating metro; buses, trams, trolleybuses and marshrutka routes (fixed-route minibuses) run daily life through the municipal operator МУП РТК and private carriers. Platov Airport historically served the agglomeration; southern airspace rules can disrupt schedules, so verify current operations before you build a commute plan around air travel. Long-distance rail via Russian Railways stays a durable backup for Moscow and other hubs.

Housing searches should check summer heat, courtyard parking and winter heating bills (often inside ZhKU communal charges) rather than chasing a resort postcard. Central and river-adjacent stock trades convenience for noise; outer panel districts trade space for longer bus rides.
