This is a news summary, not legal advice. Your own file can move faster or slower than the table.

What changed

  • Work permits from Pakistan rose to 10 weeks, up from 7 weeks.
  • Work permits from the Philippines rose to 7 weeks, up from 6 weeks.
  • In-Canada work permits eased to 122 days, down from 124 days.
  • In-Canada visitor visas fell to 29 days, down from 34 days.
  • Super Visas for the Philippines fell to 68 days, down from 73 days.
  • Study permit times did not move for Canada, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, the United States, or the Philippines in this weekly snapshot.

What you still need

  • A complete application before you trust any wait-time number.
  • The right permit type for your plan: work, study, visitor, or Super Visa.
  • Extra time if IRCC asks for more documents or a medical exam.
  • IRCC’s own processing times tool, not only a news table.
  • Service targets still differ by route. Outside-Canada work and study often aim for 60 days. In-Canada work and study often aim for 120 days. Those are goals, not promises.

Who this affects

  • Workers filing from Pakistan or the Philippines, where the weekly work-permit estimate got longer.
  • People already in Canada extending a visitor stay, who saw a shorter estimate this week.
  • Students, whose featured country times stayed flat in this update.
  • Parents and grandparents on Super Visa plans, especially from the Philippines, Pakistan, Nigeria, India, or the United States.

What to do next

  1. Check your country and permit type on the official IRCC processing times page.
  2. Build buffer into job starts, school terms, and travel. Do not book non-refundable plans on last week’s number alone.
  3. Skim our Canada Express Entry page and Canada vs United States if you are still weighing longer North America options.
