Gulf salaries and Gulf rents are not the same map. A cheap grocery basket can still sit next to a hard visa or a weak safety score. This list ranks every Middle Eastern country in our catalog by day-to-day affordability. A higher score means prices tend to stretch a paycheck further. Turkey is included because that is how our map groups it.

Why the leaders rank here for cost of living

The top of this list is about prices, not comfort or ease of entry. Countries with lower local costs outrank wealthy Gulf hubs where housing and imports eat the budget.

  1. #1
    Iran8.0

Everyday prices score as the most affordable in this set. Banking, safety, and whether you can stay are separate decisions.

  2. #2

Local prices can look softer in dollar terms than in the Gulf. Inflation still moves rent and groceries, so recheck a real monthly budget.

  3. #3

Day-to-day costs land in the middle of this list. Housing choice inside Riyadh or Jeddah changes the bill more than the national score does.

  4. #4

Wages can be high, and so can rent. Qatar ranks toward the expensive end because daily life in Doha is not a budget move.

  5. #5

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the least affordable names here. A high salary does not cancel tower rent, school fees, or car costs.

Rankings are based on our scoring model. Always verify visa and cost information with official sources before making relocation decisions.

How we calculate these rankings

We filter to Middle Eastern countries in our geographic model, including Turkey, and sort by cost of living score, highest first. Higher means more affordable. The table below is generated at build time from our latest editorial model.

What this does not measure: Your visa, school fees for a specific campus, or a single neighborhood's rent. A high score is not permission to move.

Updates: Rankings refresh when we redeploy after underlying country data changes.
