Pick KL when your Employment Pass, industry cluster or international-school shortlist sits in the Klang Valley. Mont Kiara, Bangsar, KLCC, Ampang and Petaling Jaya offer different rent and MRT tradeoffs, but the capital’s depth of private hospitals, flights and nightlife is hard to match: Nightlife and Kuala Lumpur cost of living.

KL loses when heat, jammed school runs and Mont Kiara premiums exhaust you, and when your work is fully remote with no need for capital networking. Traffic still punishes cross-valley days even with Rapid KL rail nearby.
