What is the cost of living in Canggu in 2026?

Rent is the first Canggu premium. Rooms, studios, and simple rentals exist, but foreigner-friendly villas and modern one-beds near Batu Bolong, Berawa, or the most wanted surf-and-café corridors rise quickly. Even when the island overall looks affordable, Canggu often feels like a separate market: Bali cost of living.

You are paying not only for the building but for access to the social machine. A villa near the right roads can cut scooter time and make daily life much easier. A cheaper place farther out may save rent and cost you constantly in heat, traffic, and time.

Coworking, cafés, gyms, brunch, and social visibility are the real multipliers. Many people in Canggu work from cafés or membership spaces, eat out frequently, and socialise in the same paid environments.
